England's Bowling Consultant Tim Southee Uncertain on The Ashes Participation
The bowler's last Test for the Kiwis was against England in the final month of 2024.
England's fast-bowling advisor Tim Southee is currently evaluating the extent of his role will be at the upcoming Ashes contest in Australia.
The ex- Kiwi pace bowler is expected to be present for the first Test because of his involvement in the ILT20 tournament, which begins on 2 December in the UAE.
The 36-year-old, 36, assumed a role as the English team's fast bowling consultant in the warmer months after taking 391 scalps in 107 Tests for New Zealand.
Speaking as the English team for the opening of three Twenty20 games against the Kiwis was named, he stated of his participation: "We are still evaluating that at the moment.
"We will determine the outcome over the next little while."
England pace icon Broad had stated the Australian side as their "weakest squad since 2010", but Southee was in little doubt over the anticipated challenge during the series, which begins on 21 November.
"I don't think there's ever a bad Australian cricket team," Southee remarked.
"Our focus is squarely on our own objectives. I think the quality of [the English] team that's heading out to Australia is excellent.
"It should be an absolute cracker, the Ashes. Not only [are|do] English and Australian people looking forward to it, I think the whole cricket world is."
But, before the English team head to Perth for the first Ashes match, they take on the Kiwis in Christchurch on this Saturday.
