Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.

American actor Finn, who was seen in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.

Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
