The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
